当館も正月の神様をお迎えする「門松」を整え、新しい年を待つばかりとなりました。

皆さま、どうぞ佳きお年をお迎えくださいませ。

さて、こちらの門松ですが竹田市から私の友人の弟が年末になると作成してくれています。とっても器用で超イケメンの弟君です。

ところで、門松の意味って知ってますか？

新年に幸せと健康を運んでくれる神様（歳神様）が、迷わずに私たちの家へ降りてこられるための標識の役割を果たしているそうです。

門松に使われる松は冬でも緑を絶やさないことから「長寿と生命力」を、竹は真っすぐに天に向かって伸び嵐でも折れない「強さと成長」を、梅は厳しい寒さの中で一番に花を咲かせる「希望と忍耐」の象徴だそうです。

そしてスパン！！！と切れた竹の切り口は節の部分が笑っている口に見えるそうです。「笑う門には福来る」という日本人の思いが込められているようです。
